The registration drive comes amid heightened political activity as parties begin laying the groundwork for 2027, with early organisation seen as key to managing competitive nominations and ensuring orderly internal elections.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has set Monday, February 2, 2026, as the deadline for registration of party members seeking to contest various elective positions in the 2027 General Election.

In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Board (NEB) on January 29, 2026, UDA said the registration exercise follows an earlier communication released on January 21 and targets all aspiring candidates wishing to participate in the UDA Aspirants’ Forum, a key platform in the party’s nomination and preparatory process.

“Following a notice issued on 21st January, 2026, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) hereby informs all party members and aspiring candidates that the registration deadline for the UDA Aspirants’ Forum is Monday, 2nd February, 2026, at 11.59 p.m.,” the notice reads.

The ruling party invited all qualified and interested members intending to vie for elective posts in the 2027 General Election to complete their registration within the stipulated period.

According to the NEB, the exercise is being conducted exclusively through the party’s official online portal.

“The registration shall continue to be conducted through the official portal,” NEB chairman Anthony Mwaura said, directing aspirants to the designated UDA registration website.

Aspirants have also been asked to verify their registration details through a separate verification link provided by the party.

UDA said the Aspirants’ Forum will play a central role in engaging prospective candidates as the party prepares for the next general election cycle.

The forum is expected to provide guidance on party ideology, nomination rules, compliance requirements, and internal processes ahead of primaries.

“All duly registered aspirants are invited to attend the UDA Aspirants’ Forum meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 4th February, 2026, at 8.00 a.m., at State House, Nairobi,” the notice added.

The party further said aspirants attending the forum will be required to carry their national identity cards for verification purposes, underscoring the importance of compliance and authenticity in the registration process.

The Aspirants’ Forum is widely viewed as a critical step in aligning aspirants with the party’s expectations and electoral strategy ahead of 2027.

UDA, which is the dominant party in the Kenya Kwanza coalition, has in recent months intensified internal preparations for the next general election, including strengthening party structures and updating its membership database.

The registration drive comes amid heightened political activity as parties begin laying the groundwork for 2027, with early organisation seen as key to managing competitive nominations and ensuring orderly internal elections.

Party officials have urged aspiring candidates to complete the process on time, warning that late registrations will not be entertained once the deadline lapses.
